A INKOMPASS is a unique 2-cycle internship at Philip Morris International which enables you to DISCOVER yourself through challenges and cultural diversity. You will be given the opportunity to:

- Receive personalized feedback and COACHING

If you perform well and meet all criteria during the program, you may receive a job offer with PMI even before you graduate!

A The application steps are the following:

1. Complete the online application. If you meet the criteria, you will be invited to the next step.
2. Complete the online tests. If you meet the criteria, you will be invited to the next step.
3. Participate in an on-ground assessment (OGA). If you meet the criteria, you will be invited to be an INKOMPASS intern!

A Yes. You will be informed of your application progress during each step of the process by your registered email. Whether or not you meet the criteria to progress on to the next application step, you will receive an email confirmation regarding your status. If you do not hear back from us within 2-3 weeks of completing an application step, please contact us at

A No. Once the application deadline has passed, it is not possible to apply. This is to ensure that all candidates go through the same process.

A Yes, you can apply again if the program is active in some other country. However, please note that INKOMPASS follows the same selection process globally.

A Each country has different requirements for INKOMPASS interns, in terms of country of residence, current year of study, timing of the program, etc. We encourage you to check your country's local FAQs by clicking the “Apply Now” tab and selecting the country where you wish to apply. There you will find the requirements for applicants in that specific country.

A No. You are responsible for covering any expenses that may arise in order for you to be present and available in the internship country for the duration of each cycle.

If, on the other hand, we send you to another country for business purposes, then all related expenses will be covered.

A Yes, you are able to review and edit your information on your profile page at any point in time during the application period. We recommend that you correct any errors in your application as soon as possible, in order to have a smooth process.

A INKOMPASS offers a 2-cycle approach because it is an experiential job interview, giving you a better chance to showcase your skills and abilities and giving us a better chance to get to know you.

Across the two cycles, you will work on projects that will allow you to discover our business challenges, opportunities, processes and systems.

The 1st cycle will give you the opportunity to discover several aspects of our company (i.e. operations, people and culture) through projects that allow you to interact with people from different areas.

The 2nd  cycle will give you the opportunity to experience a deep dive into a specific department or functional area.

A If your online application meets the criteria, we will send you an online test that will assess your:

1. Analytical Skills / Problem Solving Ability / Ability to draw logical conclusion and solve problems based on facts;
2. Customer Focus / Innovation that Matters / Personal Growth Mindset and Communication.

A No. However, this can be examined on a case-by-case basis (i.e. if you faced technical difficulties while taking the online test, if you were unable to complete the tests within the alotted time due to extenuating circumstances, etc.).

A The on-ground assessment is the final step in the INKOMPASS selection process. It is a one-day event where candidates can showcase their skills in business cases and team activities, network with other applicants, and meet current PMI employees. This will all occur in a fun and cool setting so that you can feel at ease and be at your best.

A No. It varies as some countries have digital interviews while some not, depending on the governance laws of the region. Kindly check the selection process of the country you have applied for in the FAQ section of the market page.

A No, there is no need to prepare for the on-ground assessment. Just make sure you arrive on time with full energy and a good attitude.

A This will depend on the recruitment dates and timings of the particular country to which you are applying. Select your target country under the “Apply Now” tab and check the local FAQs. You can also contact your local HR team by replying to the email that you received as an invitation to the assessment day.

A Yes, the INKOMPASS internship offers a very competitive salary. Salaries vary on a country-to-country basis.

A No, you need to be in the country where the internship is proposed. When you work from a different country, several complications such as tax, social security and regulatory issues arise for both the individual and their employer. Hence, we are not open to such solutions.

A This will vary on a country-to-country basis. However, in general, projects are available in the following departments: Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Corporate Affairs, Operations, Information Systems (IS). You can also refer to your Country Page to learn more.

A During the selection process, we will try our best to match you to a department based on your interests and your strengths.

A Depending on the project scope and expected deliverables, projects may require individual or group work. In any case, you can be sure that all projects will be meaningful, challenging, and give you the opportunity to showcase and further develop your skills, whether it is in an individual or group setting.

A Every INKOMPASS intern will receive day-to-day guidance and support from their COACH, who has the same function as a supervisor. He / she will introduce you to your project, clarify expectations, guide you on a day-to-day basis, and provide you with feedback.

In addition, you will also receive support from:

- Your PROJECT SPONSOR, who will ensure you have everything you need in terms of resources and budget to execute your proposals;
- Your BUDDY, who will help you answer general questions and network with different people and departments in the company.

A Your COACH and PROJECT SPONSOR will provide you with feedback throughout your INKOMPASS experience.

We also highly value your insights, feedback, and ideas, so please share them with us as well!

A During the 1st cycle, you will complete a project with a definite scope and deliverables, based on which you will be assessed. We believe that both WHAT you achieve / deliver and HOW you do so is important. This is why you will also be assessed on the behaviors you display which should be aligned with our company’s work ethics.

Throughout the experience you will receive feedback and guidance so that you understand what is expected of you. The final assessment will take place at the end of each internship cycle.

A Staying in touch with you throughout your internship journey is very important to us. You will hear from us between the 2 cycles of your internship, through:

1. Invitations to company activities and events;
2. Communication from your COACH and BUDDY.

A We strive to ensure you have a great 1st cycle experience so that you eagerly look forward to get selected for the 2nd cycle.

However, in case you do not want to continue, there is no obligation for you to do so.

A This will vary on a country-to-country basis. More details will be shared at the start of your 2nd cycle.

A If you successfully complete both cycles of the INKOMPASS internship and meet the required performance standards, you may receive a job offer at the completion of your 2nd cycle.
